Interns needed!
The Tama Christian English Center is in need of interns who have a heart for teaching English on the mission field of Japan.
We are a Christian language program located in Kawasaki, Japan. Our focus is to provide quality English instruction to our students while also giving them a positive encounter with God.
We care about the overall wellbeing of each of our students and our top goal is to help the students learn about Jesus and the sacrifice He made for them. Many Japanese have never had a chance to learn about Christianity and their time at the center will allow them the chance to learn about our faith. We know that God has called us to excellence in all we do and we trust the He will bless the work of our hands to help the Japanese learn English and meet with Him.

Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be a high school graduate (or GED), university undergraduate, postgraduate, or working professional.
- Native English speaker (preferably from the US, Europe, Australia, or New Zealand).
- Have a friendly and positive attitude with strong cross-culture communication skills.
- TEFL certificate or a transcript of educational courses taken are preferred, but not required.
- Basic Japanese proficiency preferred, but not required.
- Agreement with Paz Japan declaration of faith.
Duration of Program
What to Expect
- Assistant teaching in the after school program with children ages 6-9.
- Assisting with AEKA with children ages 3-6.
- Conducting child conversation classes with supervision.
- Gathering supplies for classes.
- Classroom maintenance.
- Helping develop lesson plans and scheduling.
- Engaging and teaching in multicultural classrooms.
- Volunteering with various language exchanges.
- Having fun living and working in Japan.
Interns
- Room and board is provided.
- You will have to pay for your own food, travel and any activities you wish to participate in.
